My view about it. This song talks about mind control. The desire to leave the surface, leaving the shallow and dive into the depths of the mind and dominate this space. She need this space from her body. But the "monument" is the death. So when the "moment comes, I can say I did it all with love" and this would be a Monument". So the "Monument" could be the "death".
